Whatnot to Stripe: Sell Your Whatnot Stock at Card Shows with Payment Links
How Whatnot sellers use Stripe Payment Links and QR codes at events and with their own followers, what each sale costs, and how FLUF Connect stops an item selling twice.
If you sell on Whatnot and also do card shows, conventions, markets or sales through your own social accounts, Stripe Payment Links give each item a buy page and a QR code you can stick on the sleeve or the box. FLUF Connect sends items from your Whatnot inventory to Stripe and keeps the two in step: when an item sells in a Whatnot show, its Stripe link stops taking payments.
In short
- Each Whatnot item you send gets a Stripe product and a Payment Link limited to the quantity you have, with a QR code ready in your Stripe Dashboard.
- Stripe takes 2.9% + 30¢ (US) or 1.5% + 20p (UK) on a Payment Link sale, with no commission and no monthly fee.
- A Whatnot sale is picked up by FLUF and the Stripe link is switched off. A Stripe sale is not, so you mark it sold in FLUF and the Whatnot listing comes down.
- Changing the price in FLUF creates a new Stripe link, so reprint any QR code you have already put out.
Why a Whatnot seller adds Stripe
Whatnot is built for live selling: the audience is in the show, and items move fast while you are on camera. Plenty of Whatnot sellers also sell face to face, at a table at a card show or a sneaker convention, and to people who message them directly. Those buyers do not want to download an app or wait for your next stream. They want to pay for the slab in front of them.
A Stripe Payment Link covers that. The buyer scans a QR code with their phone and pays on Stripe’s checkout, and you see the payment in your Stripe Dashboard. The same link works as a “buy it here” link in a post or a DM. No marketplace sits in the middle, so the only cost is Stripe’s card fee.
What each sale costs
Whatnot changed its fees on 21 September 2026. According to its seller fees page, commission is now tiered: your total sales over each four-week period set your rate for the next period, rates differ by category and country, and Whatnot quotes rates “as low as 3%” for its largest sellers on custom terms. On top of commission comes payment processing, charged on the whole order including shipping and tax: 2.9% + $0.30 in the US, Canada and Australia, and 2.42% + £0.25 or €0.25 plus VAT in the UK and EU.
A Stripe Payment Link sale carries only the card fee from Stripe’s pricing pages: 2.9% + 30¢ in the US and 1.5% + 20p for standard UK cards. Stripe adds nothing for using Payment Links, and there is no monthly fee.
| $60 card, US | Whatnot show sale with $5 shipping | Stripe Payment Link at a card show |
|---|---|---|
| Payment processing | $2.19 (2.9% of $65 + $0.30) | $2.04 (2.9% of $60 + 30¢) |
| Commission | Your Whatnot rate for that category and tier, on the $60 | None |
| Buyers | Whatnot’s live audience | People standing at your table, or following your link |
Stripe is cheaper per sale, but it brings no buyers of its own. The point is not to move sales off Whatnot. It is to sell the same stock at events and through your own audience without risking a double sale.
How to send Whatnot items to Stripe
- Connect Whatnot in FLUF Connect. Whatnot connects through the FLUF browser extension or the FLUF mobile app, and your Whatnot items appear in your FLUF inventory.
- Connect Stripe from the Stripe card on the Channels screen and approve the FLUF Connect app when Stripe asks.
- Filter your inventory to Whatnot, select the items you are taking to the event, and choose Stripe as the destination.
- Check the price, then publish. Each item gets a Stripe product and a Payment Link, and you can download the QR code from the Stripe Dashboard to print.

Stripe products need a name, a price and preferably a photo, and FLUF fills those from your item. Things that matter on Whatnot, such as show category, do not carry any meaning on Stripe. If you take a box of cards to an event, send the ones you would be sad to sell twice: graded cards, sealed product and one-off pieces.
Keeping both channels in step
| What happens | Result |
|---|---|
| Item sells in a Whatnot show or Whatnot listing | FLUF picks up the sale and switches off the Stripe Payment Link. Anyone scanning the QR code sees “Sorry, this item has sold.” |
| Item sells through its Stripe link or QR code | FLUF does not pick this up. Mark the item sold in FLUF and the Whatnot listing comes down. |
| You change the price in FLUF | Stripe gets a new link and the old one is switched off. Reprint the QR code. |
| Relisting and offers | Not used on either channel |
The Stripe-side sale is the one to watch. If you sell a card at a show through its QR code and then go live that evening, mark it sold in FLUF first, or the same card can be bought in your stream. A good habit is to check your Stripe payments when you pack up and mark everything that sold before you start the next show.
Is it worth it?
It suits Whatnot sellers who already do in-person events or sell to a following outside the app, and who have higher-value single items where a double sale is expensive to unwind. It suits less well a seller who only streams and never sells outside Whatnot, because Stripe has no audience of its own. If you want more buyers rather than a checkout, sending the same Whatnot stock to eBay is the better next step.
What FLUF costs
Crosslisting and inventory sync are on every FLUF plan. Relisting, offer management and smart pricing come with the Pro plan and above, though neither Whatnot nor Stripe uses them through FLUF. You can start with 7 days for £1, then from £9/month.

Frequently Asked Questions

FLUF picks up the Whatnot sale and switches the Payment Link off, so anyone who scans the QR code sees that the item has sold.
Not on its own. FLUF does not pick up sales made through Stripe, so mark the item sold in FLUF and it comes off Whatnot.
2.9% + 30¢ in the US and 1.5% + 20p for standard UK cards. Stripe adds nothing for using Payment Links and has no monthly fee.
Since 21 September 2026 Whatnot charges a tiered commission that depends on your sales over each four-week period and on the category, plus payment processing of 2.9% + $0.30 in the US or 2.42% + £0.25 plus VAT in the UK on the whole order.
Change it in FLUF. Stripe gets a new Payment Link and the old one is switched off, so reprint the QR code if you have already put it out.
