Whatnot to BigCommerce: Give Your Live-Show Stock Its Own Web Store

How Whatnot sellers send their inventory to a BigCommerce store with FLUF Connect, what each channel costs per sale, and how stock stays in step so an item sold in a show does not sell twice.

If you sell trading cards, sneakers, toys or vintage on Whatnot, most of your sales happen while you are live. A BigCommerce store gives the same stock a home that is open when you are not: a shop on your own domain that Google can index, that you can link from your socials, and where a collector can buy a single card at 2 a.m. FLUF Connect sends items from your Whatnot inventory to BigCommerce and keeps the stock in step across both.

In short

  • Each Whatnot item you send becomes a live BigCommerce product with its photos, description, price and stock count.
  • A sale on either side is picked up by FLUF and the stock on the other comes down, so a card sold in a show cannot also sell on your website.
  • BigCommerce charges a monthly plan fee from $29 (billed annually) and no commission. Whatnot charges a tiered commission plus payment processing on each sale.
  • Your store brings no buyers of its own. Expect to drive traffic to it yourself.

Why a Whatnot seller opens a BigCommerce store

Whatnot’s strength is the show: an audience that turns up at a set time and buys fast. Its weakness, for a seller, is everything outside that window. Items that did not move in a stream sit in your shop on Whatnot, where buyers mostly find you through the app.

A web store fills three gaps. Search engines can send buyers who type “PSA 10 Charizard” or “Jordan 4 Bred size 9” straight to a product page. Your Instagram or Discord following gets a link that does not need an app. And you can sell sealed boxes, supplies or graded slabs at fixed prices without having to run a show for each one.

BigCommerce suits this better than a basic site builder when the catalogue gets large. Its pricing page lists multi-currency selling on every plan and in-store pickup locations, which matters if you also run a physical card shop.

What each sale costs

Whatnot moved to tiered commission on 21 September 2026. Its seller fees page says your total sales over each four-week period set your rate for the next one, and that rates vary by category and country. Payment processing comes on top, charged on the whole order including shipping and tax: 2.9% + $0.30 in the US.

BigCommerce works the other way round: a fixed plan fee and no commission. From the pricing page, checked in October 2026:

BigCommerce plan Monthly Per month, billed annually Abandoned cart emails
Core $39 $29 No
Growth $105 $79 Yes
Scale $399 $299 Yes

Card payments through BigCommerce’s own processing cost 2.89% + $0.29 per transaction on every plan, and each plan has a yearly online sales limit that moves you up a tier when you pass it. There is a 15-day trial.

So a $60 card sold through your store costs about $2.02 in card fees, against Whatnot’s processing on the order plus your commission rate. The catch is the plan fee: at $29 a month you need steady store sales for it to pay its way.

How to send Whatnot items to BigCommerce

  1. Connect Whatnot in FLUF Connect. Whatnot connects through the FLUF browser extension or the FLUF mobile app, and your Whatnot items appear in your FLUF inventory.
  2. Connect your BigCommerce store from its card on the Channels screen, following the steps shown on the card.
  3. Filter your inventory to Whatnot, select the items for your store, and choose BigCommerce as the destination.
  4. Review the pricing step, then publish.

Each item goes live in your BigCommerce catalogue with its title, description, photos, price, SKU and quantity, and FLUF adds brand, condition and size as product details where your item has them. Check the category in BigCommerce after the first few, because Whatnot’s show categories do not map onto the category tree of your own store. Store-only extras such as a grading guide or a pre-order banner are yours to add in BigCommerce.

Keeping both channels in step

The moment to watch is a show. A card you have queued for a stream can sell on your website an hour before you go live. Run through your show list in FLUF shortly before you start, and leave anything you are saving for a show out of the store until afterwards.

Is it worth it?

It suits a Whatnot seller with a few hundred items or more, a following outside the app, and stock that people search for by name, such as graded cards, sealed product and branded sneakers. It also suits a shop with a counter, where in-store pickup turns website orders into foot traffic.

It suits less well a seller who only sells live and has no plan to market a website. A store with no visitors costs $29 a month for nothing. If you want more buyers before you want your own shop, sending the same Whatnot stock to eBay is the better first step, and Stripe Payment Links cover selling at card shows without a full store.

What FLUF costs

Crosslisting and inventory sync are on every FLUF plan. Relisting, offer management and smart pricing come with the Pro plan and above, though neither Whatnot nor BigCommerce uses them through FLUF. You can start with 7 days for £1, then from £9/month.
