Gumtree to StockX: Sell Unworn Trainers Beyond Your Postcode
Which Gumtree items StockX accepts, what each side costs, how FLUF Connect places a StockX ask from your Gumtree inventory, and what to do when the pair sells.
Plenty of UK sneaker resellers buy on Gumtree: a pair someone was gifted in the wrong size, a box from a clear-out, a drop bought to flip that never got flipped. Gumtree sells those pairs to whoever lives nearby. StockX sells them to buyers who search by style code and size and pay the lowest ask. If a pair is unworn and boxed, FLUF Connect can place a StockX ask from the item you already have on Gumtree, so it is in front of both sets of buyers at once.

- Only new, unworn items that match a StockX product page qualify. Worn pairs stay on Gumtree.
- Gumtree charges sellers no fee or commission. StockX takes a 9% to 7% transaction fee by Seller Level plus 3% processing, with a £4.50 minimum in Great Britain.
- When the pair goes to a Gumtree buyer, marking it sold in FLUF takes it off StockX.

Which Gumtree items belong on StockX
StockX’s verification page limits its Verified Marketplace to new, unworn goods. Every sale goes to a StockX centre for checking before the buyer gets it, and a pair that fails comes back to you.
A Gumtree ad and a StockX ask describe the same pair in very different ways. On Gumtree you write “size 9, worn once, collection from Leeds”. StockX has no room for that: the pair either matches the product page exactly, or it does not belong there. Sort your Gumtree stock before you send anything:
- Send to StockX: deadstock trainers in the original box with the label intact, sealed consoles or games with a product page, new-with-tags streetwear from brands StockX carries.
- Keep on Gumtree: anything worn, boxes with missing lids or replaced labels, unbranded or custom items, and anything a buyer would want to try on first.
- Check the box label: search StockX for the style code printed on it. No product page means nothing to place an ask against.
What each side costs
Gumtree’s fees page says there are no seller fees or costs when a buyer pays through Gumtree. The buyer pays a protection fee of £0.70 plus 5% to 10% of the price, and any delivery. Promoting an ad is optional and paid. A pair sold for £120, cash on collection, gives you £120.
StockX’s seller fees page charges a transaction fee set by your Seller Level, from 9% at Level 1 to 7% at Level 5, plus 3% payment processing on every sale. The minimum seller fee in Great Britain is £4.50.

Gumtree wins on cost. StockX wins on reach: a size 12 in a niche colourway can sit on Gumtree for weeks because nobody nearby wears a 12. Keep the Gumtree ad live and let whichever buyer arrives first have it.
How to send a Gumtree pair to StockX
- Connect Gumtree UK in FLUF Connect. It connects through the FLUF browser extension, and your Gumtree ads appear in your FLUF inventory.
- Connect StockX from the Channels screen.
- Filter the inventory to Gumtree UK and select the unworn, boxed items.
- Choose StockX as the destination and continue to pricing.
- Confirm the StockX product and size for each item. Where there is no match or several close ones, pick the right product yourself.
- Set your ask and publish.
Price from the StockX page, not from your Gumtree price. A Gumtree price usually leaves room for haggling on the doorstep, while a StockX ask competes with every other seller’s ask in the same size. Check the lowest ask and the recent sales, then decide whether you would rather wait for a local buyer.

The StockX sale is the one to watch. StockX’s shipping article gives you two business days to send the pair, so a Gumtree buyer who turns up the next evening cannot have it. Take the Gumtree ad down as soon as the StockX notification arrives, and tell anyone who has already messaged you that it has gone.
The reverse is just as important. A pair handed over on the doorstep is still on sale on StockX until FLUF is told it has gone, so update it before the buyer has walked off, not when you get home.
Gumtree UK only
FLUF’s Gumtree channel is Gumtree UK, gumtree.com. Gumtree Australia is a separate business with its own accounts and has its own channel and guide. Gumtree South Africa and Ireland are not supported.
