Crosslist from Causee to Vinted — Automatically

Two UK marketplaces that charge sellers nothing, and one of them has the buyers. Titles grow on this route — but the brand field does not exist on Causee, and on Vinted that matters more than anywhere else.

Key Takeaways — Causee to Vinted Crosslisting

  • Neither marketplace takes a penny from the seller. Causee’s configuration sets the provider commission to zero and its FAQ says sellers “keep 100% of the price they sell their item for”. Vinted’s help centre says “there are no fees for uploading your items or selling them on Vinted”. You are not buying a better fee here — you are buying an audience.
  • The audience gap is the entire point. Causee’s complete live catalogue was 2,011 listings when we counted it on 3 September 2026. Vinted reports more than 100 million registered members. Same item, same price, wildly different number of people who will ever see it.
  • Titles grow, which is a rare luxury. Causee caps titles at 60 characters; Vinted allows 100. Nothing truncates in this direction and you gain 40 characters to work with.
  • Causee has no brand field. Vinted’s brand field is structured and matters enormously. This is the single biggest gap on the route and the one thing worth fixing by hand.
  • Causee has five conditions, Vinted has six, and they do not line up at the bottom. Causee stops at “Used – Good”; Vinted continues to “Satisfactory” and “Not fully functional”. Do not carry the Causee value across without looking at the item.
  • Cost: 7 days for £1, then from £9/month — unlimited crosslisting on every plan. There is no free plan.

Two marketplaces that charge sellers nothing, one with the buyers

Most crosslisting pages open by comparing fees. This one cannot, because on the seller side there is nothing to compare.

Causee’s own machine-readable marketplace configuration sets the provider commission to zero per cent, and its FAQ states that sellers “keep 100% of the price they sell their item for”. Vinted’s UK help centre is equally direct: “There are no fees for uploading your items or selling them on Vinted. Once your sale is completed, you’ll receive a full payment for your item to your Vinted Balance.” Both platforms moved the cost onto the buyer instead. A seller comparing the two on price alone would be finished in a sentence.

What separates them is reach, and the gap is not marginal. Causee launched in autumn 2026 and is UK-only; when we counted its complete live catalogue on 3 September 2026 it held 2,011 listings, of which 1,261 — 63% — were fashion. Vinted reports more than 100 million registered members across more than twenty markets. Causee publishes no buyer number, no traffic figure and no sales data at all, and there is no independent review of it anywhere that we could find.

The category fit, though, is unusually close. Causee’s sub-category vocabulary is entirely apparel — clothing, shoes, baby and toddler clothing, infant’s shoes, kids’ shoes and maternity wear — and its stated launch focus is pre-loved fashion, children’s school uniforms and accessories. That is Vinted’s core almost exactly. Very little of a Causee catalogue is a bad fit for Vinted, which is not something you can say about most routes.

Causee raises no objection to any of this. Its FAQ says: “Can I still sell on other marketplaces? Absolutely. You are free to continue selling on other marketplaces. Causee does not require exclusivity.”

The brand gap, and why it costs you more here

Check the brand on Vinted. Causee has no separate brand field, so a brand mentioned only in your title or description may need selecting before publishing.

On Vinted it is not enough, and the reason is worth understanding rather than just accepting. Vinted’s brand field is not free text — it resolves to a brand entity with its own identifier. That entity drives the brand filter, it drives the follow-a-brand feed, and it drives a large part of how anything gets found on Vinted at all. A listing with no brand attached is not merely missing an attribute; it is invisible to one of the platform’s main discovery paths.

So while the missing brand field is an inconvenience when you crosslist Causee to eBay, on Vinted it is the difference between a listing that surfaces and one that does not. It is worth handling deliberately.

There are two ways to do that. If your master catalogue lives in FLUF Connect rather than in Causee — which is the normal arrangement once you sell on more than one channel — the brand is already a product attribute there and reaches Vinted correctly, with Causee simply being the channel that has nowhere to put it. If Causee genuinely is your source of truth, expect to set brand on the Vinted side. Either way, this is the field that makes Causee an excellent extra channel and a poor master catalogue.

Condition, translated

Causee offers five conditions and Vinted offers six, and the mismatch is entirely at the bottom of the scale.

Causee Vinted Fit
New with tags New with tags Clean
New New without tags Clean — Causee’s “New” means without tags
Used – Excellent Very good Close
Used – Good Good Close, but read the item first
Handmade No equivalent — pick a condition and say so in the text
Satisfactory Causee cannot express this at all
Not fully functional No Causee equivalent — Vinted’s lowest rung

Causee has no bottom rung. There is no Fair, no Satisfactory and no Poor, so a genuinely well-worn garment gets rounded up to “Used – Good” the moment it is listed there. Vinted does have Satisfactory — described as “a frequently used item with imperfections and signs of wear” — and below it a sixth option, “Not fully functional”, for items with broken parts. Carrying the Causee value straight across means listing at “Good” on a platform where an honest option existed and you did not take it — which is a poor place to be standing if the buyer opens a not-as-described case.

Condition is also a required field on Vinted’s listing form. A product arriving with no mapped condition is simply rejected, so it always gets a value; the question is only whether that value is the right one.

The other edge case runs the other way. Causee treats “Handmade” as a condition rather than an item type, which is idiosyncratic but deliberate — its stated launch focus includes small businesses and crafters. Vinted has no equivalent, so choose the closest genuine condition and put the word in the description.

Sizing: the source is the constraint

Causee’s size vocabulary runs to roughly 78 options: UK women’s clothing 4 to 24, shoes 3 to 13 including half sizes, separate infant and kids shoe scales, and baby age bands. There is no S/M/L scheme and no men’s sizing at all.

Vinted carries all of those and a great deal more besides, so anything that has a size on Causee maps across without loss. The problem is what does not have one. A large share of resale stock is letter-sized, and on Causee those listings carry no size at all — guessing that a medium is a UK 12 sells someone the wrong garment, so the honest behaviour is to leave it empty.

Those listings then arrive on Vinted with a blank size field, on a platform where size is one of the most-used filters there is. It is worth a pass to fill them in. As with brand, if your catalogue lives in FLUF Connect the size is already there and reaches Vinted properly; it is only Causee that had nowhere to put it.

Who actually pays, on each side

Causee Vinted (UK)
Listing fee None, unlimited None
Seller commission 0% None
Deducted from the seller Nothing Nothing
Buyer-side fee Protection Fee — amount not published Buyer Protection fee, usually 3–8% plus £0.30–£0.80, uncapped
Postage You price it and buy it at retail Handled by Vinted; buyer pays
Payout Released 7 days after delivery, then 3–7 business days To your Vinted Balance
Dispute window 5 days from delivery Vinted Buyer Protection

Two things are worth pulling out. Vinted publishes its buyer fee and Causee does not. Vinted states the Buyer Protection fee is “usually 3% to 8% + £0.3 to £0.8”, that it is mandatory on every order and added automatically at checkout, and that it varies with item characteristics, order value and order type. Causee describes its own equivalent only as “a small Protection Fee” and publishes no amount anywhere — we checked the dedicated page, the FAQ, the terms and its public configuration, which deliberately exposes only the seller-side commission. If you want to know what your Causee buyer pays, add something to a basket and look.

Second, the payout speed differs materially. Causee holds funds in escrow through Stripe and releases them seven days after delivery is confirmed, after which it says payments “typically arrive within 3–7 business days” — realistically a fortnight from the buyer paying to money in your bank.

Vinted offers Pro accounts for eligible business sellers. Causee does not offer a separate business-seller registration flow. Check that each marketplace suits your selling activity before connecting.

Postage: typed by hand, then bought in-app

This is the largest day-to-day difference between the two.

Causee has no integrated shipping labels and no courier partner. Every listing carries two required postage fields — a price for one item and a price for each additional item bought together — which you set yourself. When something sells you buy the postage at retail, send it however you like, and mark the order shipped in Causee. Local pickup is supported as an alternative, and nine of the sixty listings we sampled offered it. There is no tracking integration, so your own proof of postage is the only evidence you will have in a non-delivery claim.

Vinted handles postage itself: the buyer chooses and pays for a delivery option at checkout and the label is produced for you. Your carefully calculated Causee postage price has no role on the Vinted side at all — it is simply replaced.

The practical implication is smaller than it looks but worth stating: your Causee item price may have been set with a hand-priced postage figure sitting next to it, and buyers read the two together. Sanity-check that your item price stands on its own before you push it into a marketplace that prices postage differently.

How to crosslist with FLUF Connect

  1. Connect Causee. Follow the connection steps in FLUF. No browser needs to stay open afterwards.
  2. Connect Vinted in FLUF Connect. Vinted is an extension-first channel, so it is driven through FLUF’s own connection to your Vinted account rather than by a plain server call.
  3. Import your Causee listings. Title, description, photos, price, category, sub-category, size, condition and colour all come across.
  4. Fill the two gaps: brand, which Causee never captured and which matters more on Vinted than anywhere else, and a size for anything letter-sized.
  5. Check your condition values on anything you graded at Causee’s floor, because Vinted has a lower rung available.
  6. Select and crosslist. One item or the whole catalogue.

What syncs — and what does not

  • Sold on Vinted → withdrawn from Causee, automatically. Vinted supports order sync, so the sale is detected and the Causee listing is closed. Given the two catalogues’ relative sizes, this is the direction that will actually fire.
  • Sold on Causee → you remove it from Vinted yourself. Order sync from Causee is not available, so a Causee-origin sale is not currently detected. Stated plainly rather than implied as a closed loop.
  • Automatic relisting, offer management and smart pricing all work on Vinted — and on Vinted, relisting in particular is one of the highest-leverage things an automation can do for you. None of them exist on Causee, which supports crosslisting and mark-as-sold only. Causee has no boost or promoted-listing product for them to interact with in any case.
  • Price and description edits made in FLUF update both channels. Check the resulting listings after making changes.

Why keep the Causee listing

Given the asymmetry, it is a fair question. Three honest answers.

It costs you nothing. Zero commission, no listing fee, no subscription, and the duplication is automated. A Vinted sale closes the Causee copy, so there is no overselling risk on the direction that actually fires.

The queue is short. Two thousand listings, no paid boosts, no promoted listings and no ranking algorithm to fight means a well-titled listing in a real category is near the front of a very short line. That is the opposite of Vinted, where you are one of many millions. Causee’s stated launch focus also includes children’s school uniform, which is a category almost nobody courts deliberately — if you have uniform stock, it is unusually uncontested there.

The proposition is something you can say. Causee is not itself a charity — it says so plainly, describing itself as a social enterprise — but it donates its own company profits, with the UK charity Pepala as its founding partner, and sellers are not asked to donate anything. It is a genuinely different pitch in a category where everything else competes on price and convenience.

What it is not is a reason to leave Vinted. Treat Causee as somewhere your stock also is, at no marginal effort.

What FLUF Connect costs

FLUF Connect starts at 7 days for £1, then from £9/month. There is no free plan. Every plan includes unlimited crosslisting across all supported channels; the tiers differ in how often sales are checked and how much history you keep.

On this pair the higher tier earns its keep on the Vinted side. The Seller plan at £29/month adds automated relisting, offer management and smart pricing — and Vinted is the channel where relisting does the most work, because a refreshed listing genuinely moves. Starter covers the crosslisting itself and the sold-on-Vinted protection if you want to start there. Automation is included from Seller upwards rather than sold as an add-on; you get it on the channels that support it, which on Causee is none of them.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, on the seller side. Causee's marketplace configuration sets the provider commission to zero and its FAQ says sellers keep 100% of the price they sell for. Vinted's UK help centre says “there are no fees for uploading your items or selling them on Vinted.” Both platforms move the cost to the buyer instead, so this route buys you an audience rather than a better margin.

Brand. Causee has no separate brand field. Check and select the correct brand in your Vinted preview before publishing.

Comfortably. Causee caps titles at 60 characters and Vinted allows 100, so nothing truncates and you gain 40 characters. Because Causee has no brand field, Causee titles are usually written tightly to squeeze the brand in — on Vinted you have room to add the size, the material or a second keyword.

Both offer five values and the top four correspond closely: New with tags matches, Causee's “New” means new without tags, Used – Excellent maps to Very good and Used – Good to Good. The mismatch is at the bottom. Causee has no fair or poor rung, so worn items get rounded up there, whereas Vinted has “Satisfactory”. Grade the item honestly on Vinted rather than carrying the Causee value across.

Anything with a size maps cleanly, because Vinted's size vocabulary is far wider than Causee's. The gap is what has no size at all: Causee offers only UK numeric women's sizes, shoe sizes and kids and baby scales, with no S/M/L and no men's sizing, so letter-sized stock carries no size on Causee and arrives on Vinted with the field blank. Size is one of Vinted's most-used filters, so it is worth filling in.

Vinted publishes its figure: the Buyer Protection fee is “usually 3% to 8% + £0.3 to £0.8”, mandatory on every order, added at checkout, and varying with item characteristics, order value and order type. Causee describes its equivalent only as “a small Protection Fee” and publishes no amount anywhere — not on the dedicated page, the FAQ, the terms or its public configuration. To see it, add an item to a basket on Causee.

On Causee, yes. It has no integrated labels and no courier partner: you set a postage price for one item and for each additional item when you list, then buy and send the postage yourself and mark the order shipped. Vinted handles postage itself — the buyer chooses and pays for a delivery option at checkout — so your Causee postage figure has no role on the Vinted side.

Yes, automatically. Vinted supports order sync, so the sale is detected and the Causee listing is closed for you. The reverse is not live: a sale on Causee is not currently detected, so you take the Vinted copy down yourself. Given Causee's whole catalogue was 2,011 listings when we counted it, the Vinted direction is the one that will fire in practice.

It costs nothing to keep and a Vinted sale closes it automatically, so there is no downside beyond the initial setup. Causee's small catalogue and complete absence of paid boosts or a ranking algorithm means a well-titled listing sits near the front of a very short queue — the opposite of Vinted — and its stated launch focus includes children's school uniform, a category very few marketplaces court deliberately.
