Born in Riverside, California, BDB is an emergent contemporary artist whose work is born out of street art with hints of fashion, pop culture, music, technology and history. The early stages of his career were marked by mural work across Paris, Madrid, Rio de Janeiro, Miami, Berlin and Los Angeles, before he turned his focus to fine art. His work has been exhibited at all major art fairs in the US — Art Basel Miami, Armory NYC, Aspen, Chicago, and the LA Art Fair — and internationally at Frieze London and in Tokyo.
Presidential depicts George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Benjamin Franklin reimagined in contemporary streetwear — BAPE camo, gold chains, Air Jordans, and ripped denim — against a bold red and white striped background with star-painted canvas edges. A sharp piece of cultural commentary delivered with wit and confidence. Finished in a high-gloss epoxy resin coat that gives the surface striking depth.
