Alling M. Clements - Ducks By The Pond Oil on Board Painting 1926 Framed

A charming and intimate plein-air oil study by Alling MacKaye Clements, one of Rochester, New York's most influential early 20th-century painters. Dated 1926 — the year Clements traveled through Europe — this small-format work depicts a group of white geese resting along a sunlit grassy bank, with their reflections shimmering across the dark, rippling surface of a pond. A second cluster of birds is visible in the middle distance, nestled against a backdrop of deep green foliage. The composition is handled with the loose, confident brushwork of the American Impressionist tradition, balancing warm greens against the rich tonal depth of the water.
