Vintage Japanese Carved Wooden Netsuke Mouse Rat on Broom Signed

Beautifully carved vintage Japanese-style wooden netsuke depicting a mouse/rat sitting on a traditional broom.

Approx. 13cm in overall length.

The carving is highly detailed, including the mouse/rat, broom bristles and wrapped handle. There are two cord holes (himotoshi) to the underside.

There is also an incised mark/signature visible on the mouse/rat, as shown in the photographs.

IMPORTANT: The signature has not been professionally identified or authenticated, so the maker, age and provenance are unconfirmed. I am therefore selling this as a signed/marked netsuke – signature unconfirmed.

Condition: Good vintage/pre-owned condition with some age-related marks, surface wear and minor imperfections. Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the description.

A very unusual and attractive piece for collectors of Japanese netsuke and carved wooden figures.
