Macbeth QuantaLog Flourometer, Flourochemical Transmission Analyzer Model FT-20A

Macbeth QuantaLog Flourometer, referred to as a flourochemical transmission analyzer. It looks nearly identical to standard densometers but is configured to detect and measure flourescent materials. Densometers use visible light while the FT-20A utilizes a UV light source to excite flourescent particles in a sample. Because this machine uses a UV lamp, the bulb can take a few minutes to reach full stability. Ensure the lamp has warmed up for 5-10 minutes.

Common applications are textiles and paper to measure the optical brightness used to make them appear "whiter that white". Analyzing flourescent penetrants used to fing cracks in metal parts. Checking for the presence of specific flourescent tracer dyes or contaminants in liquids and materials.
