French Bleu de Travail Work Jacket 50s–60s Repairs
Description
Authentic French workwear jacket dating to the late 1950s–1960s. Made from sturdy cotton twill with a classic concealed snap-button front and two chest pockets.
A true worker’s garment with decades of honest wear and numerous period repairs. The jacket features multiple hand-guided zig-zag reinforcements and several patch repairs executed using different workwear fabrics, including an original herringbone twill (HBT) patch. Some repairs were later repaired again, reflecting its long working life rather than decorative distressing.
Beautiful natural fading throughout with heavily worn edges, cuffs and hem. A great reference piece for collectors of European workwear, textile repair history or Japanese boro and sashiko aesthetics.
